Herkimer police make arrests in connection with stabbing

HERKIMER, NY (NEWS10) – The Herkimer Police Department announced the arrest of two people in connection with a knife attack in the area of ​​the Mohawk Street Bridge near the Thruway. Tylor Waufle, 29, of Herkimer, and Joshua Eckhard, 31, of Little Falls, were arrested and face multiple charges.

Herkimer police responded to reports of a stabbing in the area around 12:30 p.m. on May 18, where they reported finding a man with stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. According to police, the victim was taken to Wynn Hospital with life-threatening injuries and then to a Syracuse hospital in critical condition.

Police reported receiving a description of two attackers and were then able to find a man matching the description of one of them who was found with a bloody knife. He allegedly resisted arrest and injured an officer in the hand and wrist before being transported to the station.

The second suspect was found shortly afterwards and also transported to the station. They were both arraigned and lodged in the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
