Five-month-old baby dies after ‘neglect incident’ at Legoland Windsor | British News

A 27-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of neglect of a child with intent to cause unnecessary injury following Thursday’s tragedy.

A five-month-old baby who suffered cardiac arrest at Legoland Windsor last week has died in hospital.

The child was in critical condition following the incident at around 1pm on Thursday, May 2nd.

A 27-year-old woman from Witham, Essex, was arrested on suspicion of child neglect to cause unnecessary injury on Friday.

The woman is on police bail until July 26.

Police said they were not looking for additional suspects and urged the public to “avoid speculation about the incident and respect the boy’s family at this deeply troubling time.”

The little boy died in hospital on Sunday, police said today.

Thames Valley Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward who may have been queuing for the boat ride to Coastguard headquarters between 11.30am and 12.45pm on Thursday.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Zoe Eele, from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “We are investigating a disturbing incident involving a very young child at Legoland Windsor earlier this week.”

“First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family of the boy who sadly passed away in hospital following a cardiac arrest. We are supporting them as best we can during this extremely difficult time.”

“We are working closely with the team at Legoland Windsor Resort but would like to speak to anyone who may have information about this incident, particularly anyone who was in the queue for the boat ride to Coastguard Headquarters between approximately 11.30am and 12.45pm .”
