On Monday, May 6, officers responded to the InTown Suites Hotel on Highway 49 at approximately 1:21 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Oatis lying on the ground. Switzer says Oatis was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound.

GPD says during the course of the investigation, it was determined that Williams and Oatis got into an argument when Williams pulled out a gun and shot Oatis.

Switzer says the autopsy will take place Tuesday.

Anyone with information about this incident or Williams’ whereabouts is asked to contact Gulfport police at 228-868-5959 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
