Police seize drugs and weapon during traffic stop in Marion

MARION, SC (WMBF) – A Marion man is facing charges after being accused of multiple drug offenses.

Marion police said they have been investigating 47-year-old Daryl Lamont Jones for several months.

Then on May 1, authorities said they stopped Jones and seized 159 grams of cocaine base, 26 grams of cocaine, 20 doses of methamphetamine, 9 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun and $747.

Jones’ charges include trafficking in cocaine base in an amount of 100 grams or more, trafficking in cocaine in an amount of 10 grams or more but less than 28 grams, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, third offense and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

His bail was set at $90,000.
