16-year-old shot dead in Northborough

NOERTHBOROUGH, Mass. – An investigation is underway in Northborough after a 16-year-old was shot early Sunday morning.

According to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, a Northborough police officer was stopped around 1 a.m. and learned that a gun had been brandished at a home on Howard Street.

Upon arrival, police said gunshots were heard inside and they soon discovered hundreds of people at the property. Two victims suffered gunshot wounds.

“They walked into a scene that can only be described as chaotic,” Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said.

A 17-year-old was taken to Marlborough Hospital where he was treated and released. Other victims had visible injuries but refused medical attention.

Three adults were arrested and charged with weapons possession. They will be arraigned in Westborough District Court on Monday.
