Long Beach police say they are investigating the murder of a 20-year-old woman who was shot while walking near Paramount Boulevard and 57th Street.

Officers rushed to the scene around 10:07 p.m. Saturday after someone called police to report multiple gunshots and “a possible suspicious vehicle fleeing the scene,” Long Beach police said in a news release.

Police said the woman was shot in the upper and lower body. According to LBPD, she died at the scene. The agency identified her as Brooklyn Mack, a 20-year-old Long Beach resident.

The circumstances and motive of the killing are still under investigation, police said.
