Motorcyclist dead in California City traffic accident

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – A motorcycle and a vehicle were involved in a fatal crash on California City Boulevard Wednesday evening.

According to the California City Police Department, on May 8, a motorcyclist collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Hacienda and California City boulevards and was killed. Officers arrived at the scene around 1:19 p.m. and found a man on his side down in the roadway. Paramedics pronounced the man dead after life-saving measures were performed.

Officers said the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on California City Blvd when it struck a vehicle that was turning southbound from California City Blvd onto Hacienda Blvd. The motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle in the middle of the intersection.

The driver involved remained on scene and cooperated with officers. The identity of the motorcyclist will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office at a later date.
