Taylor Swift’s heartfelt message after the knife attack in Southport

Taylor Swift has expressed her heartfelt condolences following a tragic knife attack in Southport that left two children dead and several injured. The incident reportedly took place during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class, adding a somber tone to the singer’s response.

Swift shared her reaction on InstagramShe said she was “in complete shock” and was struggling to find the right words to express her condolences.

“The horror of yesterday Attack in Southport comes over me all the time and I am just completely shocked,” Fast‘s message has been read.

“The loss of life and innocence and the horrific trauma inflicted on everyone there, the families and the first responders.

“They were just little kids in a dance class. I don’t know how I can ever express my sympathy to these families.”

The incident

Organised by The Hart Space, the dance class was advertised as a yoga and dance workshop for children aged three to 12, with the class aimed at children in Years 2 to 6. The class, which was fully booked, was supposed to be a fun-filled event from 10am to 12pm, but tragically ended in violence.

According to reports from the North West Ambulance Service, several children suffered stab wounds and were taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Aintree University Hospital and Southport and Formby Hospital.

Merseyside Police confirmed that nine children were injured, six of them in a critical condition. In addition, two adults who reportedly tried to protect the children are also in a critical condition.

“We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following a major incident this morning, Monday 29 July,” the police statement said.

“At around 11:50am we were called to a property on Hart Street for reports of a stabbing. There are multiple reported victims and further details will be confirmed as soon as possible.”
