Min Hee-jin’s side explains suspicion of sexual harassment cover-up

On July 29, CEO Min Hee-jin’s legal representative, Sejong Law Firm, released an official statement saying: “The sexual harassment case mentioned was already ruled ‘not guilty’ by HYBE’s Human Resources Committee on March 16. In a situation where HYBE is directly involved in matters related to legal issues, human resources and public relations, it is not only incomprehensible but also unfair to raise the issue again and suddenly use a different interpretation to attack CEO Min Hee-jin.”

They explained: “The mentioned meeting, which involved the employee involved in the problem, was scheduled after the February 1st date to understand the work. This employee also agreed to attend. The meeting went without any problems.”

ADOR’s legal representative also refuted the claim that CEO Min Hee-jin tried to cover up the case by taking sides with a male manager who was allegedly the perpetrator of the sexual harassment incident. According to the contents of the conversation previously published by Dispatch, CEO Min Hee-jin criticized the female victim using harsh language.

The law firm rejected this and said: “CEO Min Hee-jin listened to the opinions of both sides impartially, tried to mediate the conflict, and faithfully played the role of preventing similar problems from occurring again in the future through caution and warning. Meanwhile, she also made suggestions to HYBE to call for better system operation, such as improving HR procedures and increasing transparency“.

They emphasized “The disclosure of private conversations is an act of personal attack and has nothing to do with the core of the matter. Furthermore, it is clearly illegal to pass on private conversations to third parties.”
