Buffalo police investigate fatal car crash in Riverside

Northwest District officers arrived on scene around 10 p.m. and learned the vehicle was traveling east on Arthur Street when it left the roadway and struck a tree near Tonawanda Street, according to a Buffalo police spokesperson.

The passenger, a 30-year-old woman from Buffalo, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, 28, also from Buffalo, was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where he is being treated in the intensive care unit for multiple injuries, the spokesman said.
