Rapists who lured two women to a house party and sexually assaulted them were sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison after one of them was caught in a hideout in Germany

Two rapists were arrested after luring two women to a “house party” and attacking them.

Ibrahim Kone, 24, of Moor Crescent Chase in Leeds, met the two women – who were out in Leeds on July 3, 2021 – outside a fast food restaurant and then invited them to a house party.

West Yorkshire Police said the women later went to a house in the Harehills area where they were met and severely sexually assaulted by Kone and another man – his co-defendant Ibrahima Krubally, 21, of Gledhow Road, Leeds.

The men were identified and charged. After Krubally failed to appear in court, he was extradited from Germany following an arrest warrant issued against him under the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TaCA).

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Leeds Crown Court after being found guilty of three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by penetration.

Ibrahim Kone, 24 (pictured left) and Ibrahima Krubally, 21 (pictured right) were both sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison after being found guilty of raping two women they lured to a house party.

Kone was sentenced to eight years in prison after being found guilty of rape.

Detective Constable Samantha Wilson of Leeds District CID, who led the investigation, welcomed the guilty verdict.

She said: “I would like to thank the victims in this case who have shown so much courage in coming forward and who have been commended for their bravery in giving evidence in court against both defendants.”

“There is no doubt that Kone and Krubally caused significant physiological and physical harm to both victims through their actions.”

Detective Inspector Richard James of Leeds District CID added: “This has been a long and complex investigation which began in 2021. Unfortunately, the victim’s wait for justice was prolonged by Krubally leaving the country during the court proceedings.”

“I hope this case shows that we will work with our partners internationally to ensure that dangerous criminals cannot evade prosecution by fleeing abroad.”

I also hope that their convictions and the prison sentences they have now been sentenced to will provide some closure for their victims and provide reassurance to society.”
