Three people charged in drug investigation in Cadiz

After a months-long drug investigation, a man and two women were charged with drug trafficking and possession in Cadiz on Thursday afternoon.

According to Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree, the investigation led to a search warrant for a home on West End Street, where 2 ounces of marijuana, weapons, various prescription drugs and 2 1/2 ounces of meth were found.

Chris Smith and Chandra Whetstine were arrested and charged with trafficking meth within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of meth, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Smith was also charged with possession of marijuana and prescription drugs in improper containers.

Ashley Combs was also in the house and was charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is being led by Deputy CJ Ahart and Sergeant Rob Schnieder. Officers were assisted by the Cadiz Police Department and the Trigg County Constables’ Office.
