Peter Petersen, 50, was arrested Wednesday after a search of his home resulted in the seizure of firearms, fentanyl, amphetamine and methamphetamine, police said.

GRAY, Maine – The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Gray man Wednesday on suspicion of drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm.

Peter Petersen, 50, has been charged with aggravated trafficking in Class W drugs (fentanyl) and unlawful possession of a firearm by a non-criminal person, according to a press release from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

“Last month, agents with the MDEA Cumberland District Task Force investigated Peter Petersen’s illegal distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine from his home in Gray. During the investigation, agents made several undercover purchases of fentanyl from Petersen,” the press release states.

Agents and deputies executed a search warrant at Petersen’s home at 80 Whitney Road in Gray around 2 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect was located at his home, arrested without incident and charged with a warrant and three counts of aggravated trafficking in a Schedule W drug (fentanyl), the news release said.

Officers said they seized ten grams each of fentanyl, amphetamine and methamphetamine, as well as three loaded weapons and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

Petersen was taken to the Cumberland County Jail, where he was also charged with illegal possession of a firearm. His bail was set at $30,000, the news release said.
