Suspect arrested for assault and kidnapping in Southern California

A 24-year-old San Bernardino County man was arrested and faces felony assault and robbery charges after a female victim was violently attacked earlier this week, authorities said.

According to authorities, Chino Hills resident Robert Michael Lockwood-Stinson got into an argument with the victim that escalated into physical violence on May 7, seriously injuring the woman, a news release from the San Sheriff’s Department said Bernardino.

The suspect took the victim’s phone, wallet and cell phone and the victim was able to flee the scene.

Around 9 a.m. that same day, Lockwood-Stinson found the woman in the 15000 block of Palomino Drive in Chino Hills and forced her into his vehicle.

“The victim attempted to escape, but Lockwood-Stinson grabbed her by the hair and struck her several times,” authorities said. “Lockwood-Stinson threatened to attack her again if she tried to escape and drove the victim to her apartment.”

As the 24-year-old left, the woman reported the incident to officers at the Chino Hills Police Department.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant and Lockwood-Stinson was taken into custody near his residence on May 8 and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.

No information was provided about the nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
