Accident south of Virgin River Gorge closes southbound I-15

ST. GEORGE – Motorists traveling south on Interstate 15 should expect delays Tuesday morning.

According to an alert from Mesquite Police at 5:09 a.m. MDT, southbound I-15 has been closed near the Nevada-Arizona state line. Motorists are asked to take the Beaver Dam exit at mile marker 8.

“Please plan accordingly,” the post says.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the interstate was closed at around 4:23 a.m. MDT due to an accident. There is no estimated time for reopening.
