Three people arrested in early morning raid on a Meriden home, police said

MERIDEN – A search of a Grove Street home early Saturday morning resulted in three arrests, authorities said.

In a news release, Meriden police Lt. Darrin McKay said officers executed a search warrant on a home in the 100 block of Grove Street to find evidence of a recent robbery on the property. He said there have been a number of robberies, shootings, stabbings and a murder in connection with that home.

McKay said many of the incidents occurred as a result of an “after-hours event” on the second floor of the building.

For this reason, McKay said, detectives, patrol officers, the Neighborhood Initiative Unit and the Connecticut State Police conducted a search of the house at 2:45 a.m. They discovered evidence of illegal alcohol sales and other evidence.

McKay said Stephen Jenkins, 38, and Alyssa Clausell, 26, were arrested for hindering police during a search.

There, McKay said, authorities also found a firearm hidden in the sofa. He said Raphael Jacobs, a 41-year-old convicted felon, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a firearm.

McKay said Jacobs was released on $500,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 29. He said more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
