Suspect arrested for robbery in Sacramento

In total, the seven suspects fled after the first robbery with jewelry worth around $250,000.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – One of the suspects involved in two robberies at a south Sacramento jewelry store is behind bars.

The first robbery took place on December 24, 2023. Officials said seven suspects used hammers and other blunt objects during the crime while customers and employees were inside the store. The suspects swarmed the store and broke the supply crates while the customers and employees hid in a back room.

In total, the suspects stole jewelry worth approximately $250,000.

On February 13, 2024, the same store was attacked again. This time, two suspects went in and smashed the display cases while customers and employees once again hid in the back room.

The suspects stole $30,000 worth of jewelry.

Officers said both robberies were committed by the same group of suspects.

One of the suspects was eventually identified as 19-year-old Julian Lomeli of Stockton. He was taken into custody at a home in San Joaquin County, east of Stockton.

Officers also found evidence related to the cases during a search of two homes.
