Rape: Two women accuse man of rape in Jhalawar after videos surface | Jaipur News

Kota: Two women from a village in Jhalawar, including one from the Dalit community, filed a complaint of rape and sexual exploitation against a 27-year-old married man late Friday night. Police identified the accused as Wasim, who allegedly exploited the survivors, then minors, for eight years till 2022. The complaint was filed after an unidentified person uploaded objectionable videos of the survivors on social media. Though the crimes took place over two years ago, police have registered cases under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the POCSO and SC/ST Acts. Wasim has been arrested and is being questioned. The survivors, a 19-year-old from a Scheduled Caste community and a 23-year-old from the Mali community, decided to come forward after the videos surfaced online. Local Hindu organisations alerted senior police officials in the Kota range. Both survivors said they had not had any contact with Wasim for the past two years.
