Michigan man arrested for child neglect in Venice

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A man was arrested at the Hotel Venezia in Venice on Saturday, July 6, for failing to care for a little girl.

A witness testified that David Bull, from Michigan, was visiting and had been drinking in and around the hotel’s pool area for seven hours before his arrest.

Officers said Bull spoke incoherently during the conversation and was unconscious at times. Doctors at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice determined that Bull had opioids in his system and a blood alcohol content of 0.416.

It is believed that Bull was knowingly the little girl’s sole caregiver and was arrested for failing to ensure her welfare.
