Buffalo shooting driver sentenced to 10 years in prison

Buffalo, New York (WBEN) – Luis Martinez, 52, of Buffalo, was sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by five years of parole for his role as the getaway driver in a 2021 shooting on Clinton Street.

The incident occurred outside a Buffalo tavern. Martinez and his twin brother, Jose, got into a fight in the tavern and were thrown out. The two left the bar and returned a short time later, while Jose Martinez opened fire on several patrons outside the bar.

Luis Martinez was convicted in May 2024 of attempted second-degree murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree assault.

Jose Martinez had already pleaded guilty and received the same sentence.
