1 dead after collision with semi-trailer that ignored a stop sign in Carroll County, ISP reports

CARROLL COUNTY, Iowa — One person was killed in Carroll County Tuesday afternoon when he collided with a tractor-trailer that failed to stop at a stop sign, the Iowa State Patrol said.

According to an accident report, at approximately 1:47 p.m., a semi-truck driven by 63-year-old Michael O’Keefe was traveling north on Noble Avenue when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Noble Avenue and 150th Street, just northeast of Carroll. A Chevy Silverado driven by 65-year-old Ronald Eischeid was traveling east on 150th Street when it crashed into the trailer on the driver’s side of the semi, left the roadway and came to rest in the east ditch.


Eischeid succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. O’Keefe was unharmed.

No charges have been filed. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
