Investigations into fatal shooting in Marigny ongoing

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans police are investigating after a man was shot in the Marigny neighborhood on Wednesday, July 10.

At 7:23 a.m., NOPD officers were called to the scene of a shooting in the 2700 block of Decatur Street.

When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further details have been released. NOPD officers are gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is performed and family is notified.
