Long lines at fast food restaurants in Houston because of Beryl

With so few places open to eat after the power outage, Houstonians were willing to sit in incredibly long lines to get a meal.

KHOU 11 reporter Anayeli Ruiz posted a video (taken by her father) on X showing one of those lines. It was at the McDonald’s near the Gulf Freeway on Astoria Boulevard on Monday night.

In the video, dozens of vehicles can be seen lined up on the street, waiting in line.

Fast food restaurants aren’t the only ones seeing an increase in business. KHOU 11 News has also received multiple reports that it’s been difficult to find open gas stations.

In the video posted by Ruiz, after his father walks past the long line of cars waiting for McDonald’s, another line can be seen waiting to enter a nearby gas station.
