Friends reflect on loss of teenager found dead in Hendersonville

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Macon County High School student said she tried to call her friend dozens of times in the days before she was found dead in Hendersonville.

On July 3, a TDOT contractor found the body of 17-year-old Trinity Bostic in a small strip of woods near Vietnam Veterans Boulevard.

A week after her disappearance, Hendersonville police arrested a 17-year-old from Westmoreland for first-degree murder.

“She was a real bundle of energy, that’s for sure. She was always smiling and literally lit up every room she walked into,” Khloe Redfield said.

Redfield said Trinity Bostic was one of her good friends. Trinity would soon graduate from Macon County High School.

“She had actually texted me saying she was running away from home. But I didn’t believe it at all until the Macon County Sheriff’s Office knocked on my door around 10 p.m. that night,” Redfield said.

On June 29, according to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, a missing person report came in that night. The Sheriff’s Office traced Trinity’s phone to Sumner County and sent out an APB.

Days later, her body was found in a small wooded area in Hendersonville.

Class president Landon Connor said the community is now trying to understand the tragedy. “It was a shock.”

A week after her disappearance, a 17-year-old boy was charged in connection with Trinity’s death.

“He actually went to school with us and was in our class, and I talked to him a few times, but I didn’t really know him,” Connor said.

Because the suspect is a minor, Hendersonville Police have not yet been able to determine the suspect’s identity.

However, Redfield said she felt kind of weird trying to reach Trinity the day she disappeared. “I tried calling her 32 times that night, and knowing Trinity, she would have answered any of those calls.”
