Names released in Pringle Highway crash that killed cyclist | News

CUSTER COUNTY, SD – Names have been released in connection with the fatal crash that occurred on the morning of Thursday, June 27, in Pringle, South Dakota, at the intersection of Highways 89 and 385.

82-year-old John Lambert of Fort Collins, Colorado, was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a Chevrolet Impala for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Lambert was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter but succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, July 3.

The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet Impala was identified as 46-year-old Heather Marie Whitney of San Diego, California. She and her passenger, 21-year-old Jason Douglas Whitney of San Diego, California, were not injured.
