ABC-7 First Alert: Borderland braces for sweltering heat and storms

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Happy Saturday! We are currently under the ABC-7 First Warning as dangerous heat is expected on Sunday. Temperatures will rise to as high as 41 degrees.

Conditions today will be similar to yesterday, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, bringing localized flooding and strong winds to affected areas.

A heat warning is in effect for today, Sunday.

The summer pattern of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night will continue next week.

These storms are expected to bring hail, strong winds and moderate to heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding.

Temperatures will be near or slightly above normal on most days, with the exception of Sunday, when much warmer temperatures are expected in predominantly dry weather.
