A joint motion to change the trial date in Kory York’s case from September 23 to October 28 was sent to Presiding Judge Thomas W. Rogers. In December 2022, York – a former Louisiana state trooper – was charged with involuntary manslaughter and 10 counts of abuse of office in the death of Ronald Greene. According to Kory York’s attorney, J. Michael Small, the change of date was requested due to “issues with the availability of witnesses.”
