Governor Green signs Senate bill establishing Hawaii’s Silver Alert program

HONOLULU (KHON2) – Governor Josh Green signed and signed into law Senate Bill 2305 on Tuesday, which establishes a Silver Alert program within the law enforcement agency.

SB 2305 establishes a Silver Alert to assist elderly or mentally disabled individuals who are missing or at risk.


“The implementation of a Silver Alert program will bring many benefits to our community and especially to our missing kūpuna,” said Senator Brandon JC Elefante. “I want to thank Governor Green and the community for all of their hard work and support in turning this important measure into law.”

More than half of all states across the country have established Silver Alert programs to assist missing persons.
