Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines will suspend flights to Singapore next month, announcing the cuts just two weeks after launching the service.

“After reviewing the current market situation, regular flights (to Singapore) will be suspended from June 1 until further notice for commercial reasons,” the airline said.

The airline said it would contact passengers to rebook flights and issue refunds, adding that affected passengers would be compensated with a free return ticket.

The airline announced in February that it would launch a new route to the city-state from April 26, with one flight per day.

Passengers could still book a flight ticket on the company’s website in May for around HK$640 to HK$960 per trip (excluding taxes). However, as of June, tariffs were no longer available.
