Man injured in Mira Mesa house fire; The cause is being investigated

One person was injured in a late afternoon house fire in Mira Mesa on Wednesday.

According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the fire broke out around 5:15 p.m. in the 10400 block of Greenford Drive, north of Gold Coast Drive.

Firefighters rescued a man in his 60s from the burning one-story house and extinguished the flames, which took about half an hour, the city agency reported. Paramedics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of burns of unknown severity.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
