First Alert Weather Team is tracking some showers moving in from the Atlantic – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Action News Jax’s First Alert Weather Team is monitoring a few more showers moving in from the Atlantic.

First Alert meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh says these showers will arrive during the morning rush hour on Wednesday. Some parts of town will benefit from some much-needed rain. A few more showers are possible throughout the day as they move away from the ocean.

A fresh offshore wind is blowing from the east at 24 to 32 km/h. A surf warning is in effect for 1.5 to 2.1 m high breakers and there is a high risk of surf backwash.

As for the tropics, a broad low pressure system could form in the southwestern Atlantic over the next two days. Showers and storms will move toward the southeastern United States. There is a chance of beneficial rain, gusty winds and rough beach weather, with favorable conditions peaking on Friday.

There are some indications that the weather situation will not be a tropical storm, but rather a chaotic area with showers and storms.
