Morrill man sentenced to prison after January incident at Sioux County feedlot

A Morrill man who was arrested in January after threatening people with a knife at the Sioux County Feedlot has been sentenced to prison.

Alden Hill Sr., 49, was eventually arrested at a store in Morrill, and officers found a knife on him during his arrest. Hill pleaded no contest to charges of making terroristic threats and violating the sex offender registry and was sentenced last week in Sioux County District Court to 18 months in prison on the first count and six months on the second.

District Judge Travis O’Gorman ordered that the two charges be tried consecutively and that Hill must serve nine months’ probation after his release in addition to his prison sentence.
