A man who repeatedly attacked his ex-girlfriend has been jailed.

Nottinghamshire Police said 24-year-old Jack Mochun attacked the woman several times between 2022 and 2023, including strangling her and dislocating her shoulder on another occasion.

He had previously pleaded guilty to intentional suffocation, assault, harassment and four counts of assault by beating, as well as unintentionally causing grievous bodily harm to a second victim.

Mochun was sentenced to two and a half years in prison and also received a restraining order.

According to police, he continued to harass his partner after she found the strength to end the relationship.

His behavior was reported on September 16, 2023 – the same day he smashed a glass in the face of a man he had just met, police said.

The attack took place in a house in Carrington after the pair had spent the evening drinking heavily at a pub in Sherwood, Nottingham.

“Violent and controlling”

His victim, a man in his 40s, suffered cuts to his face and an eye injury after being punched and kicked by Mochun.

Det Sgt Paul Clark said Mochun, of Seely Road, Radford, was “a violent and controlling bully who poses a clear danger to women”.

“I am pleased that he has now been imprisoned and would like to thank his victims for the courage and determination they have shown throughout the legal process,” he added.

“I hope he uses his time in prison to address the root causes of this violence and also hope that his conviction encourages other victims of domestic violence to come forward and tell us what happened to them.”
