Man arrested for sexual abuse in Water Country: YPSO

YORK COUNTY, Virginia – A man was arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching several girls in Water Country in York County.

According to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office (YPSO), the attack occurred Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to a complaint that an unknown individual had assaulted three girls and a woman in the wave pool area of ​​Water Country at around 3:45 p.m. that day.

After working with Water Country security personnel in their investigation, officers identified the suspect as Ziaulhaq Faqiri, a 29-year-old from Newport News.

He was arrested on Thursday and is charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of aggravated sexual assault, according to YPSO.

Faqiri is being held at the Newport News City Jail, YPSO said.
