Police: 2 dead in accident in Albion

ALBION, Michigan (WOOD) – Authorities say two people were killed in a crash in Albion after they sped away from a traffic stop.

The Albion Department of Public Safety said that around 8 p.m. Wednesday, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving on Superior Street near Walnut Street.


The vehicle did not stop and drove away at high speed. Shortly afterwards, it left the road and crashed into a tree, according to ADPS.

Police said two occupants of the vehicle died. Their names were not released. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
