The hip-hop community mourns a tragic loss.

Enchanting – an up-and-coming rapper who was formerly signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records – has died, her close friend and collaborator Lil CJ Kasino confirmed on social media. She was 26 years old.

“They pulled the plug bro this shit is so fucked up,” Kasino wrote in a June 11 Instagram post. “I just knew you was finna pull throw. You’re gone forever.”

He recalled all the hours they spent together in his studio making music and added: “You’ve come much further than we have. I’ve always told you how proud I am of you.”

The cause of death was not disclosed, but news of the “No Luv” rapper’s death came days after several media outlets reported that she had been placed on life support.

Along with the message, Kasino also shared a photo of Enchanting – real name Channing Nicole Larry – sitting in a recording booth.

Enchanting grew up primarily between Fort Worth, Texas and Atlanta. She started making music at age 18 and pursued a career in hip hop after graduating high school. In 2020, she signed with Mane’s 1017 Records and appeared on three compilation albums before parting ways with the label.

In addition, she also released two full-length albums – “No Luv” in 2022 and “Luv Scarred / No Luv” in 2023 – before parting ways with the label.

“Staying in the studio and constantly recording helps me find the style I’m good at,” she shared in her artist profile on the 1017 Records website. “It’s like trap-n-blues.”

But music was not just a form of self-expression for Enchanting. She noted, “Other people can identify with the things I say. I can help someone in any situation, they can listen to me and find peace.”

Following the news of her death, fellow artists paid their heartfelt tributes to the rapper, including Lakeyah, Ericka Banks and Gucci herself.

“So sad to say rest in peace to such a great young lady,” Gucci wrote in an Instagram post on June 11, “a true star, we will all miss you Chant.”
