New Hampshire man arrested in connection with sexual assault in Bennington

Manchester, NH – A Manchester man has been arrested in connection with two sexual assaults that police say occurred in Bennington last September.

According to police, 56-year-old James Gathright sexually assaulted a woman in Bennington in September 2023 and also sexually assaulted a young girl a few days earlier. Gathright was arrested in Manchester on Monday and will be extradited to Vermont to face charges in court.

Gathright is charged with aggravated sexual assault and sexual battery.
