Pune: Football coach arrested for sexually assaulting underage player

The coach was arrested on Sunday under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The mother of the 14-year-old victim lodged a complaint at Kondhwa police station. A case was registered against Yash Hemant Jain (25), a resident of Undri, under sections 376/2/N and 376/2/F of the POCSO Act.

According to police, the accused Jain is a football coach. He trains the complainant’s daughter as a football player. Under the pretext of training her, Jain gained the girl’s trust and forced her to perform sexual acts. The matter came to light when the victim told her mother, who immediately approached the police. The accused was then arrested.
