Nina Dobrev gives health update after serious bicycle accident: “Operation was successful”

Nina Dobrev is out of the operation and the operation was a success.

The Vampire Diaries The 35-year-old star posted a few snaps on Instagram on Wednesday, one of which shows her on a hospital bed in the emergency room giving a thumbs up. The next photo in the carousel post is a selfie. Unlike the first picture, where she is smiling, the second picture shows her with a more serious expression and glassy eyes.

But all’s well that ends well, and Dobrev assured fans that “the operation was a success 🫶🏼” a bad bicycle accident in May.

She added: “Thank you to everyone who sent kind messages, thoughts, prayers and good vibes. I have felt the support and positive energy. This means more to me than you will ever know ❤️‍🩹.”

Before undergoing surgery on her left leg, Dobrev shared on her Instagram Story that she was a little nervous about going under the knife. In a very relatable moment, Dobrev said she was “such a baby when it comes to needles, blood, or any kind of procedure.”

Throughout the ordeal, Dobrev never lost her sense of humor, as evidenced by her next two Instagram stories, which include “one final photo of my leg – flawless – before it’s all scarred over.” The next story? A video of Dobrev using a pen to confirm – she writes “yes” and an arrow pointing upwards – which leg needs surgery.

“Fun fact: They make you draw on the limb they’re operating on to confirm it’s the right limb,” she wrote in her story. “Because I guess there have been cases in the past where some surgeons have accidentally operated on the wrong limb.”

Dobrev’s health update comes just weeks after she shared on social media that she suffered multiple injuries in a bike accident. In a Grid post captioned “How it started vs. how it continues,” Dobrev shared a photo of her on the motorcycle before the accident. The second photo shows her in a hospital bed, wearing a neck brace, a splint on her left leg, and suffering from multiple abrasions.

“I am fine, but the road to recovery will be long,” she wrote at the time.

Dobrev’s friend, Olympic legend Shaun White — dem she has been together since 2020 – has done his best to cheer her up – from taking photos during her recovery to he shows his dance steps to make them laugh.

And it obviously worked!
