Homicide investigation underway after shooting at Maple Valley apartment complex leaves one dead

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. – One person is dead after a shooting outside an apartment complex in Maple Valley.

The King County Sheriff’s Office and Maple Valley Police responded to the 22400 block of Southeast 240th Street around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday night after receiving a report of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived at the complex, they found a victim who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim is a man who lived in the apartment complex.

The police have not yet been able to locate a suspect. Residents of the apartment complex reported that they observed a search operation involving sniffer dogs in the area.
