SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A man is dead after being shot by a San Antonio police officer during a domestic dispute.

Police Chief William McManus said they were called to the 2600 block of Babcock Road shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers were informed that a 19-year-old and his girlfriend had an argument. The man left and his girlfriend called the police.

But the man came back with a gun in his hand.

When a police officer arrived at the scene, he saw the man pointing his gun at the woman. Then the officer heard a gunshot.

At that moment, the officer opened fire on the man. He was taken to a hospital and later died.

Chief McManus says the man did not point his gun at the officer.

No names have been released and the investigation is ongoing.

KTSA News will update this story as more details become available.
