Police investigate alleged shooting incident in Dover

DOVER – Police are investigating a suspected shooting incident at the Harmony at Kent assisted living facility at 1435 East Lebanon Road.

A passerby who lives near the accident site said police arrived at the scene around 5:15 p.m. More than two hours later, officers were on site conducting investigations.

At one point, more than 20 police vehicles were on the scene. The lead police agency was the Delaware State Police, and the Dover Police Department was also on the scene.

Evidence markings were placed in the parking lot and yellow tape was visible over the entrance to the facility.

The Delaware Department of Transportation diverted traffic from the area.

An attempt to contact the Delaware State Police for information was not immediately successful.
