Woman sexually harassed at WeGo bus terminal, police said

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man accused of inappropriately touching a woman at a WeGo bus station was taken into custody over the weekend, authorities said.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 2, at the WeGo bus terminal in the 400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

According to court documents, police were dispatched to the area after receiving reports that a man was “inappropriately touching a woman.”

Officers said the victim told them the suspect ran away before they arrived. She reportedly told police she was sitting on a bench on 4th Avenue North of the terminal when a man touched her leg at least four times.

The woman said she got up, walked away, went to another bay in the terminal and sat down with a witness, but the suspect followed her to the bay and continued to touch her leg several times.

According to a police report, the suspect – identified as 39-year-old Kenneth Bell – then exposed himself to the woman, whereupon witnesses tried to pull her away from him.

A witness confirmed the incident to police and said Bell ran when he heard the police sirens.

Bell was later found in a parking lot in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue North. He was taken into custody and charged with sexual battery, public nuisance and trespassing.

According to booking records, Bell remains in jail on $30,000 bail.
