Russian missile attack on Kharkiv: One civilian killed and two injured

According to local authorities, Russian forces launched a missile attack on a resort in Kharkiv Oblast on Saturday night on June 3. One civilian was killed in the attack and two others – a man and a woman – were injured. Residential buildings in the resort were damaged in the attack.

In April, Russia escalated its airstrikes on the city and Kharkiv Oblast, adding glide bombs to ongoing missile and drone attacks. Later in May, the Russians launched a new ground assault on Kharkiv Oblast from the north across the border, which stalled in the first few weeks. However, airstrikes on the region continued, causing damage to infrastructure and injuries to civilians.

The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that the Russians launched at least five rocket attacks on the Zmiiv community after midnight.

“As a result, attacks occurred on the territory of a recreation complex, one civilian was killed, details are currently being investigated. Two civilians were injured – a man and a woman. Houses of the recreation base were damaged,” he wrote.

The Kharkiv region prosecutor’s office also provided details. It said Russian forces attacked the village of Dachne in Chuhuiv district with five S-300 surface-to-air missiles, causing a fire at the resort complex. The attack killed a 45-year-old man and injured a 35-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, both employees of the resort. According to the prosecutor’s office, Russia fired the missiles from its Belgorod region.
