At around 5:50 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to the 2800 block of Terrace Drive in Chevy Chase to check on the welfare of the parolee who had not reported back to work after checking on Sewell, a registered sex offender, at his residence.

When police entered the apartment, they discovered a man who was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released the cause of death. Further information and the identity of the probation officer are pending after “proper notification of next of kin,” police said.

Police are still searching for Sewell and have issued an arrest warrant for him, accusing her of first-degree murder.

Sewell is considered armed and dangerous and may be driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Elantra sedan with Maryland license plate 93661HT.
