Police in St. Louis search for missing elderly man suffering from dementia

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing elderly man with dementia.

Police said 74-year-old Freddie Darden never returned after leaving his home in the 3600 block of Tennessee Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

He suffers from dementia, heart defects, high blood pressure and has suffered strokes in the past, police said.

Police described Darden as 5’10”, 130 pounds, bald, with brown eyes. He walks with a four-pronged cane and was last seen wearing a red Cardinals cap, black wool trench coat, gray sweatpants and blue and white shoes.

Anyone who has seen Darden should immediately call 911 to contact the nearest police department or call the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department at 314-231-1212.
