17-year-old arrested after person found shot to death in car

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Authorities say a teenager has been arrested after a person was found shot to death in a car.

Around 4 a.m. Monday, officers received a call from a man who said his 17-year-old son had shot his friend. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers went to her home and learned the shooting had occurred in the 1600 block of East St. Louis Avenue.

Officers searched the area and found a victim in a car suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers determined the shooting was premeditated and arrested the 17-year-old for open homicide.

The victim’s identity and cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
