Two people shot, one killed in Milwaukee’s Lower East Side

According to Milwaukee police, both shootings occurred less than an hour apart, just blocks away

SURVIVORS LATER IN OUR NEWS BREAK. AND NOW TO A VIOLENT WEEKEND AT HOME IN MILWAUKEE. POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING FIVE SHOOTINGS DURING THE NIGHT, TWO OF THEM WITHIN A FEW BLOCKS ON THE EAST SIDE, ONE AT FARWELL AND BRADY. AROUND 3 AM A 21-YEAR-OLD WAS INJURED, BUT JUST 35 MINUTES EARLIER ANOTHER SHOOTING WAS FATAL ON THE PROSPECT IN KENILWORTH. THAT WAS AROUND 1020 PM THIS MORNING. SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS 8 OR 9 PEOPLE WALKING DOWN THE PROSPECT. THEY STOP TO SURROUND THE WHITE CAR, THEN A MUZZLE RELEASES THE GROUP, DESTROYING IT. MINUTES LATER, MILWAUKEE POLICE OFFICERS ARRIVE AND BLOCK OFF THE INTERSECTION. MILWAUKEE POLICE SAYS A 19-YEAR-OLD WAS SHOT AND KILLED AND PRONUNCIATED DEAD AT THE HOSPITAL, BUT CAMERAS DO NOT CATCH AMBULANCE. AN EMPLOYEE OF THE VINTAGE BAR ACROSS THE STREET SAW THE SHOOTING. THE LAST CALL WAS AROUND 210, AND THE NEXT THING I HEARD WAS LIKE A CAR BACKFIRING. BUT THEN I SAW A GUY SHOOTING SOMEONE ACROSS THE STREET. SO I TOLD EVERYONE TO GET AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS, LOCK THE DOOR, AND THEN. MILWAUKEE POLICE HAVE NOT MADE ANY ARRESTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE SHOOTING.
