Porsche accident in Pune: 2 doctors arrested for tampering with blood sample of teenage driver | Latest news from India

Two doctors from Pune’s Sassoon General Hospital have been arrested on suspicion of tampering with the blood sample of a teenage driver, an accused in the Porsche car crash case, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said on Monday.

Previously, a video had emerged in connection with the Porsche accident in Pune, in which the 17-year-old could be seen in a bar.

Amitesh Kumar said Dr Ajay Taware, head of the forensic department of Sassoon Hospital in Pune, and Dr Shrihari Harnor, chief medical officer of Sassoon Hospital, were arrested for allegedly tampering with blood tests and tampering with evidence in the Porsche accident case.

The Porsche accident in Pune is currently being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department. Two IT professionals died when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Porsche, allegedly driven by the minor, in the early hours of May 19.

Police claimed the teenager was drunk at the time of the accident. The teenager was initially released on bail by the juvenile court and told to write an essay on road accidents. However, following outrage over the lenient treatment and a review request from the police, he was sent to an observation home until June 5.

Police have arrested the teenager’s father, a real estate agent, and his grandfather in connection with the accident.
