East Leake: Three women and a young girl sexually abused – man arrested

Charges have been brought against a suspect following reports of a series of sexual assaults in East Leake.

Three women and a young girl reported being approached by a man at three different locations in the village on Tuesday, May 21.

Ionut Toroduc, 36, was arrested in East Leake on Wednesday and has since been charged with four counts of sexual assault and two traffic offenses – including refusing to provide a breath sample and failing to cooperate in a preliminary test.

He was also accused of an attack on April 30 in Leicester.

Toroduc, of Stuart Street, Leicester, was due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Friday.

Detective Sergeant Christophe Sutton of Nottinghamshire Police said:

“We have worked hard over the last 48 hours to investigate these reports and I am pleased that we have now been able to charge a suspect. Our investigation into the incident will now continue.”
